Do you take your change to Coinstar machines? There is a fee of 9.8 cents for every one dollar and that is a major turn-off for many people. However, there is a way to get 100% of your money at Coinstar. They now give you the option to buy giftcards.
Giftcards aren't just for giving, you can use them yourself too. When you put in your change you can get a NO FEE eCertificate or Gift Card. According to CoinStar's website: "It's free. And there's no need to roll, sort or count coins. Just choose Free Coin Counting and the eCertificate or gift card you'd like. Then cash in, keep it all. The Coin to CardTM option is that easy. And free."
They have retailers like Amazon.com, iTunes and Starbucks, so they are places you will actually buy things from. I know one mom that was able to use her change for about 75% of her Christmas shopping. She used Amazon.com and Toys 'R Us gift cards to buy gifts for the whole family. This is great to keep in mind for birthdays and special holidays like Valentine's Day and Father's and Mother's Day.
