This week's Mom on the Move is Lisa Grothe, co-owner of The Children's Playroom, an awesome drop-in childcare facility in Colorado Springs.

Tell us about your family.
My husband and I have been married for almost six years. We have two wonderful children. Lillian will be four in May and Wilson will be 2 in August.

Tell us about your business/job.
The Children's Playroom is an hourly childcare. Families can drop their children off and then pay for the amount of time that the child is there upon pick-up. It is a fun environment where kids can play with other kids and have a good time while mom and dad are out at a doctors appointment, grocery shopping, getting a haircut, or even going out on a date. We are open till 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate for date nights.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom?
As a former teacher I love watching my children learn; I am not just talking about memorizing facts but more importantly learning how to be little people that understand how to think, help others and love people.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom on the move?
Family is so important to my husband and I, and it is wonderful to be involved in a business that we can do as a family. We all have to work together but that makes it very rewarding. And it's always wonderful to hear back from Playroom families that tell us our business provides their family an outlet to play, have fun, be spontaneous and get things done.

What are some of your mom shortcuts or tips you could share with us?
Routines are very helpful in our house. I like to have a tentative idea of what I can expect from the week, so my husband and I do a "weekly family preview" to coordinate our time of work, family, and play and have a snapshot of what the week will look like.

What is your favorite book for kids and/or teens?
We love to read at our house. It is a daily activity. One of favorite children's authors is Sandra Boynton and we read anything she writes.

What is your favorite adult book?
It is really hard to pick just one, but I would have to say Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
